Behind CONGTAOJU is also a partnership between two cultures. Through his Chinese wife, German-born co-owner Ilker Yelken entered the world of Hetian jade with growing fascination and respect for its artistry, symbolism and craftsmanship.
Their shared perspective now brings together Suzhou Hetian jade heritage with a German approach to precision, quality and structured design thinking. Chinese cultural depth remains at the heart of every creation, while an international point of view helps shape its contemporary expression.

Selecting the Jade
Each piece of jade is considered for its individual tone, translucency, texture and natural markings. Luminous white surfaces and warm golden-russet coloration are selected not simply for uniformity, but for the distinctive character they can bring to a finished CONGTAOJU creation.
Suzhou Hetian Jade Carving
Once the jade has been selected, its natural contours, coloration and translucency begin to guide the form. Our artisans refine each piece through careful carving and hand-finishing, revealing sculptural motifs while preserving the individual character of the stone. Traditional jade-working sensibility meets the precision of contemporary high jewelry.
Goldwork & Gemstone Setting
After carving, each jade element is brought together with refined gold craftsmanship and carefully placed gemstone accents. Gold structures are shaped around the individual contours of the stone, while diamonds and colored gemstones add light, contrast and depth without obscuring the natural character of the jade.
Final Hand Polishing
Each CONGTAOJU creation undergoes a final stage of meticulous hand polishing to refine its luster, enhance its natural translucency, and soften every contour to the touch.
